Our Mission and Values
At Amare Birth, our mission is to provide education, support, understanding, and love to our clients. We value bodily and medical autonomy for all. We advocate for those who are voiceless, we listen to those unheard, we support those who need it most. Through loss to new life, we want our clients to feel safe and cared for. Though we provide advocation, our greatest hope is that we can educate our clientele so they have the confidence to advocate for themselves. We educate to empower our women and light a fire in them to ensure that they can trust in their bodies, they can trust themselves. Amare Birth supports any and all births. We celebrate every child, no matter how small.
Amare Birth was founded on the acknowledgement that birth is a natural and beautiful part of life. Though we believe natural birth is the best way to bring your child into the world, we understand that sometimes circumstances present themselves that do not allow this. We believe that everyone deserves to have the birth experience that they want. Whether transitioning into motherhood or giving birth for the third time, childbirth is a momentous occasion that should be filled with peace and love. Support, knowledge, and understanding are just a few of the qualities we strive to present to our clients and their families. Amare in Latin means “beloved” or “to love”. Here at Amare Birth we love birth, and want you to experience a beloved birth!
Meet your Doula
Emily Coots is a south Louisiana native who values life, no matter what form. Emily found her calling of birth work through having children of her own. After a traumatic first birth, that she firmly believes could’ve been prevented with the proper knowledge, she began researching and educating herself to prepare for any future birth she may have. After achieving two natural births, she realized that medical autonomy is largely unheard of in the birthing world and knew that needed to change. She has made it her life mission to educate women on labor and birth to prevent the continuing pattern of unsupported and preventable trauma happening in such a vulnerable time in their lives.
Emily is a mother of three, enjoys spending time with her family, loves animals, and hopes to bring peace to those she supports through birth and loss.
Emily is a certified Birth and Bereavement Doula through the Stillbirthday program.
Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers- strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength."
